Seven volumes (incomplete set (of ten)). In German throughout. Teutonic font. A stout set. All books are in full leather. Gilt decoration on the boards, gilt titling on the spine. Blind stamped titling and decoration on the front boards. Each book has a pewter plate Art Nouveau representation of Atlas. Volume I: The boards have wear about the edges, corners; there is wear to the head of the spine, some scuffing and marks along the body. They have light stacking scuffing. The contents are most pleasing. Tissue-guards are fresh. The pages are bright, very clean and clear, as if barely used. Volume II: The boards and spine are scruffy with wear, scuffing, shallow shelving and handling marks. The contents are agreeably as with volume I. Volume III (pub. 1907): The boards and spine are worn, scuffed, marked all about from shelving, stacking handling. The boards are steady. The contents are fresh-faced, alert, very clean and clear. Volume V: The boards and spine have wear about the edges and corners from shelving and handling. They have scuffing and shallow marks. They are very confident. The contents are in excellent condition. They are as if barely opened! Volume VI (pub 1909): The boards have wear about all edges, corners and seams from shelving and use. The spine has wear to the head. Otherwise, the boards and spine are steady and sound. The contents are smart, neat, bright, as if almost new!! Volume VII (pub 1911): The boards have stains, wear, marks all about from stacking, shelving, age. The spine has wear to head and foot. The boards and spine are steady and healthy and comfortable. The contents have some light wear and tanning about the edges. Otherwise, the contents and illustrations are most pleasing, clean, clear, handsome. Volume VIII (pub 1911): The boards are much worn about all edges, corners and seams. The pewter plate has broken away. Despite scuffing, marks the boards and spine are steady and contented. The contents are most pleasing. They are pleasantly clean, confident, generous and sure. Please note that the set is heavy, consequently if the books are to be posted to the outside of South Africa, extra postal charges may be required. fk
