Two volumes (complete). Both books are amiable, contented. The boards of both have scuffing, handling and storage marks, shelving wear about the edges, corners. Volume 2 has storage marks along the spine, some shelving wear to the head and foot. Volume 1: 1819-1836. The frontispapers have previous owner signatures by E Goldswain (of Bulawayo) - a descendant of Jeremiah Goldswain. The contents are mild, mellow, clean and clear, certain, convivial. Volume 2: 1838-1858. Previous owner signature on frontispage (Mary Ludhope). The papertrims are smeared with foxing. The contents have foxing throughout.
