The Survey of London 1603 - Mansion House Edition : A Survay of London. 518 pages (complete). A proud, sound copy of this irreplaceable portrait of Elizabethan City of London. Quarter leather. The front board has the 1539 Seal of the City with the motto, 'Londini Defende Tuos Deus Optime Cives'. The Alderman red cloth boards have scuffing, wear, marks from handling and storage. They are benign and steady. The leather spine is comfortable and clubbable. Gilt titling (fresh and sure). The page trims are edged in gilt. This is healthy and most dignified. The first free page is a compliments page: "With The Best Wishes of Sir William Henry Dunn, Lord Mayor. The Mansion House, London, 1917". The contents are most agreeable and comfortable. They are tight, clean, clear and congenial, companionable and still utterly engaging.
