Cape Cold to Cape Hot, Pape, Richard
7 Pape, Richard Cape Cold to Cape Hot
Odhams Press Limited, London 1956 First Edition Hardcover Poor Poor Hardcover
256 pages (complete). A most inconsiderately stored but still resolute copy. Richard Paper was described by Antony Blond (his literary agent) as brutally drunk, murderous, treacherous and sly and also great fun! All qualities that stood him good stead for this extraordinary story of his motor journey from Honningsvag at Nordkapp in Norway to Cape Town. This copy is scruffy, much affected by storage, but yet comfortable and assured. The dustjacket has much wear, marks and scuffing all about. It has been reinforced on the reverse with nostalgia-inducing brown paper. The early and end pages have insect damage; the contents are foxed, marked. They are bravely sure, clear, generous, engaging. fk
