64 pages (complete). A much owned copy of this record of the festival commemorating the landing of Jan van Riebeeck at the Cape in 1652. The magazine is worn all about. The covers are rubbed and scuffed. The pages are tanned and worn. They are also clean and clear and tight. However, the general placidity and sense of occasion are ably and vividly conveyed. fk

Three volumes complete. A confident set housed in a thick board slipcase with board separators. The slipcase is worn and scuffed all about. It is competent for purpose. The volumes are bound in red leather. They are in general, smart and agreeable. Volume I: "General History and Social Life of the Cape of Good Hope". The page trims are foxed. Within, the early and later pages have blushes of foxing and rusting. Otherwise, they are comfortable and clear. Volume II: "History of Law, Medicine and Place Names in the Cape of Good Hope". As with Volume I, the page trims are foxed. The contents have flushes of foxing here and about. Otherwise, the contents are mild-mannered, comfortable, confident. Volume III: "Cape Archives and Records". Similar condition to Vols I & II, however the contents are largely creamy, clean, clear and very confident. fk

979 pages plus folded map (complete). Ex-library (University of Cape Town) copy with consequent labels, annotations, wear, marks, usage. Part of the "Cape of Good Hope Archives" series. There are two previous owner ex-libris plates (William Duncan Baxter and Henry John Hustler). The inside pastedown has a label recording that the book was donated to the UCT Library from the Estate of Dr W Duncan Baxter (the legendary Capetonian and former Mayor). A much used copy that, despite its usage and age, is benign and patient. The boards are firm with some scuffing, wear and marks. They are sound. The frontis and end papers are tanned from age. In general the contents are clean, clear, competent, diligent, pleasing. fk

They are both scuffed and a little worn. They are otherwise placid. The pages within No. 6 are bright, fresh, clean, clear, diligent. The ISBN for No. 7: 0958513449. The covers are much scuffed. Again, here, the pages are very tight, bright, clean and confident. fk
